From the Secondary Principal: 24 April 2023

Dear Parents, Secondary School is gearing up for Student Council elections in early May.  In advance of that, I would like to share some important changes to the StuCo bylaws that will take effect with this year's election and, looking much further down the road, next year's elections as well.  Our Student Council leaders have already shared this information with students. Before I get to those changes, a little background:   Students may choose to run in one of two scenarios (and here I will admit that I've had to familiarize myself with our terminology):  The first option is to run for office at the "class" level; that is, as a representative of one's class/grade level.  The second option is to run for office in a "block"; in other schools this would be regarded as the executive council that leads the entire Student Council structure in the Secondary School.  Rather than running as individuals, in both scenarios students get together to form teams ...

 Dear Parents, I trust that this message finds you all well and enjoying the sunshine and warm weather of these last few days! It has been wonderful seeing all of our students back on campus today as I must admit that the Secondary School seemed a bit too quiet last Thursday and Friday.  I have been hearing lots of wonderful feedback regarding the Friendship Games experience.  By all accounts, it was a fantastic opportunity to not just compete against peers at the member schools, but also to build (and deepen) connections and friendships.  I saw quite a bit of "hardware" making its way into school this morning, which means that we now have to find additional space for these latest additions to our trophy collection...not a bad problem to have! Just a quick reminder already we are nearly at the mid-point of Quarter 4.  Students with quarter grades of  below 70% in a particular course will receive a progress report detailing what is working well and what can...

Dear Parents, I hope that you and your children had a wonderful break from school last week.  It was a pleasure to see our students return this morning, looking refreshed and ready to enter this final, 8-week stretch of our academic year. For my inaugural message on this new communications platform, I want to share with you some news regarding the delivery of personal items to school.  Given the success of our process for allowing the delivery of lunches to students,  the Senior Leadership Team has agreed to permit the delivery of important personal items that students may have forgotten at home.
